Assalamualaikum yang dihormati sekalian,

Selamat datang ke Film Melayu Studies sekali lagi. Saya Farhanah Elmu (and that’s Elmu with a ‘U’ and not an ‘O’), pelajar yang ter-minah sekali di cohort kita.

… And I shall stop trying to write in Malay now because I’ve come to realisation that my formerly powerful vocabulary is not all that great anymore.

Ladies and gentlemen, our (or rather, your) last semester has finally come to an end. I’m not sure if you’re ecstatic since you’re finally getting your certs and f.ing off from the school, or upset, because we’re parting. But do remember each other even after graduation and often call to lepak in months and years to come.

I wouldn’t mind going all the way to Simpang Bedok just to have a drink. But of course, ada pergi ada balik, you guys will have to come down to Al-ameen Bukit Timah to meet us North and West-siders and have briyani. Y’know y’know, just like old times.

Parting ways has always been a sad sad matter. But I guess in a few months’ time, it’ll be really exciting to have a reunion once again. That when the boys will be botak, Mr Karismawaran might already lose weight (didn’t I hear he wants to be an airsteward? hehe), Ashley might lose some colour even, Fizah maybe jadi minah havoc because you know what they say, studying in Uni is tough, sometimes you gotta let your hair down. Heikal might get his fair number of chicks and probably getting some, Afiqah might be speaking more Malay than ever, Afiq probably jadi more Kong, Hafiz might already have his girlfriend, and Fahmy.. well he’s still in NS, so he’ll be the same. heh.

And me? Well rumour has it that I will be working full-time at Trimedia as a student journalist. Hahaha. Well, actually it’s not funny. Fuck you, all of you.

Heh. But I’m pretty sure I’ll be alright. I’ll update you guys again next semester. And I’ll call you guys when I miss you. And I’ll still love you when you’re gone.

I’m actually in a very jolly good mood right now. It’s Friday, presentations are over, birthday celebration all throughout the weekend.
